Ventura County Medical Explorers Post 911, based in Thousand Oaks, opens doors for youth interested in pursuing careers in healthcare. Members gain hands-on experience with skills such as suturing, emergency response, CPR, and splinting, while also participating in community service and receiving valuable career insights.
Proudly partnering with Safe Passage, Los Robles Hospital, and Scouting America, the program aims to inspire the next generation of medical professionals while fostering responsibility, compassion, and a strong commitment to serving others.

The Post is primarily student-led, giving high school members the opportunity to take initiative and actively shape the direction of the program. This structure places students in positions where they are responsible for planning, organizing, and contributing to a professional environment.

With biannual elections for leadership roles such as Sergeant at Arms, Battalion Chief, Chief Medical Officer, and Squad Captain, students are given the chance to step into meaningful positions of responsibility. These roles require accountability, decision-making, and collaboration, helping students understand what it means to lead and support a team.

Explorers build confidence, discipline, and a strong work ethic, preparing them to handle the expectations and challenges they will face beyond high school. Additionally, hands-on volunteer experiences allow students to apply their skills in real-world settings, further strengthening their confidence and understanding of patient care.
Partnered with organizations like Scouting America and Safe Passage to serve and uplift our community.
Collaborated with Safe Passage to distribute food to 200+ families, totaling over 1,000 pounds.
