 Our bi-monthly Monday meetings at Los Robles Hospital consist of a mix of hands-on skills day, engaging lectures, elections, and squad presentations.

September 8th - Post Kick-Off

  • advice + Q&A with Los Robles  surgeons, residents, and physicians
  • Brainstorming event ideas for the year




October 6th - Lecture with Dr. Taqi 

  • he is a triple board-certified Interventional and Stroke Neurologist
  • walk through real-life cases
  • causes and signs of strokes
  • intro to the latest stroke technology




November 17th - Lecture with Chief Tim Hagel

  • he is the former Chief of Police for Thousand Oaks and the founder of Safe Passage Youth Organization
  • Insights on his journey and motivation





December 1st - Hands on Splinting Practice with Mr. Marcelo Rivero

  • he helps run the ER Department at Los Robles Hospital
  • hands-on splinting practice 




December 15th - Lecture + Hands-on  Activity with Dr. Zin

  • he is a pathologist at Los Robles Hospital
  • insightful lecture and demonstration of Robotic Navigation, Endobronchial Ultrasound, Fine Needle Aspiration, and Transbronchial Nodal Aspiration





January 12th - Hands on IV skills day led by Mr. Marcelo Rivero

  • He helps run the ER department at Los Robles Hospital
  • Explorers practices IV skills using saline, butterfly needles, and ultrasound technology





March 10th - Lecture with Los Robles NICU nurses

  • Insights on neonatal intensive care as well as the passion and mental strength that is needed for caring for such small and vulnerable patients and families




March 23rd - Suturing Workshop led by Los Robles residents and physicians

  • Explorers learned and practiced multiple suturing techniques using fake skin pads and real suturing needles
